Mississippi’s Intersectional Team competes against teams from other clubs in the Ottawa Valley Golf Association (OVGA). Qualification for the team is based on the best two out of three 18-hole scores played from the Blue Tees. The team consists of 12 members – 10 regulars and 2 alternates. During the OVGA Intersectional competition, each golfer plays 3 simultaneous matches against golfers from the 3 other clubs in the division. Each match is worth 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie. The team with the most points at the end of the competition is declared the winner and moves up a division the next year. The team with the least points moves down a division. The OVGA Intersectional matches are usually played in July.
