Women's Ethel Ferguson Qualifier 10:00 a.m.

Qualifying for the district event, to be held generally in August. The team consists of the lowest net from A, B & C classes in this one day qualifier.

Ethel Ferguson event: Eighteen holes of interclub match play, with strokes given or received on appropriate holes. Note: The lower handicap player gives the higher handicap player strokes.  Teams of 3 players from each club play for points and the trophy is awarded to the team earning the greatest total points. The meal is included in the entry fee.

When the Ethel Ferguson Interclub match play event came into being, it was Ethel’s wish and her suggestion that, in choosing a team of three players, the Club Captain and her Committee consider certain factors:

1.       Try to choose players who have had some match play experience.

2.       Consideration should be given especially to those players who support both Club and District Tournaments

3.       Special consideration should be given to players who provide some level of volunteer service at either the Club level or District level.

4.       A Club Champion may not always be the best choice for net Match Play, since she is undoubtedly going to have a low Factor and could be a strong stroke player but not necessarily a top match player.

5.       Try to choose from both the day players and the business ladies’ section.

Please note that the above recommendations are merely guidelines. They are not rigid requirements for this event.
