Equipment

- Clubs – kids will need their own golf clubs.

- Balls – range balls will be provided, kids will need their own balls on the course.

- Sneakers, shorts, golf shirt.

Program Goal

- Immediate goal of the program is to introduce more local kids (members and non-members) to golf by providing an opportunity to receive coaching on the basics of the game (drive, chip, putt) and also giving the kids an opportunity to experience the full golf course without the pressure of keeping up with adult games around them.

- Longer term goal of the program is to create a group of young local players that enjoy golf, and that could potentially form the future of the club’s teenage golf programs and teams.

Parents

- Drop off and pick up kids is fine as there will be adult supervision at the course while they are participating in the program.

Volunteers

If you want volunteer to help out let me know.  No better place to be on a nice summer evening than on a golf course.

Covid-19

Formal details/protocols being worked out.  Given all activities are outdoors with ability to be spaced out, we’re hoping to make it work.  During the practice hour, goal is to have 3 groups of 4-8 kids per group, with everyone being socially distanced appropriately.   During the playing time, it will be groups of 3-5 with an adult joining, and appropriately socially distanced.  Golf has been a good example of an outdoor sport that can be accomplished in a safe and socially distanced manner.  We plan to follow and respect whatever restrictions and recommendations from public health authorities once we get to July.
